“Ugly Betty is an American television comedy-drama series starring America Ferrera in the title role, along with Eric Mabius, Vanessa Williams, Ashley Jensen, Becki Newton, Judith Light, Ana Ortiz, Tony Plana, Michael Urie, and Mark Indelicato. The series premiered on September 28, 2006, on ABC in the United States and Canada. It follows the life of the unglamorous and good-natured Betty Suarez and her incongruous job at the ultra-chic New York City fashion magazine Mode.
The series is an adaptation of the Colombian telenovela Betty la fea (“Betty the Ugly One”), written by Fernando Gaitán (also author of Café, con aroma de mujer). It is adapted into a New York City setting by creator/developer Silvio Horta and co-producers Salma Hayek and Ben Silverman, whose production companies Silent H, Ventanarosa and Reveille respectively partnered with ABC Studios to create the hour-long program for the U.S. audience. Hayek has appeared on the show as Sofia Reyes, in addition to playing a cameo role as an actress on a fictional telenovela watched by the main character’s family in the pilot episode.
Ugly Betty has been renewed by ABC for a fourth season and will air on Friday nights at 9pm starting October 9, 2009 “…

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer is an American supernatural drama series that aired from March 10, 1997 until May 20, 2003. The series was created in 1997 by writer-director Joss Whedon under his production tag, Mutant Enemy Productions with later co-executive producers being Jane Espenson, David Fury, and Marti Noxon. The series narrative follows Buffy Summers (played by Sarah Michelle Gellar), the latest in a line of young women known as Slayers. Slayers are chosen by fate to battle against vampires, demons, and other forces of darkness. Like previous Slayers, Buffy is aided by a Watcher, who guides, teaches, and trains her. Unlike her predecessors, Buffy surrounds herself with a circle of loyal friends who become known as the “Scooby Gang”.
The series usually reached between four and six million viewers on original airings. Although such ratings are lower than successful shows on the “big four” networks (ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox), they were a success for the relatively new and smaller WB Television Network. Reviews for the show were positive,[4] and it was ranked #41 on the list of TV Guide’s 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time as well as #2 on Empire’s 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time. Buffy was also voted #3 in TV Guide’s Top 25 Cult TV Shows of All Time and included in TIME Magazine’s 100 Best TV Shows of All Time. It was nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards. The WB network ceased operation on September 17, 2006 after airing an “homage” to its “most memorable series”, including the pilot episodes of Buffy and its spin-off Angel.
Buffy’s success has led to hundreds of tie-in products, including novels, comics, and video games. The series has received attention in fandom (including fan films), parody, and academia, and has influenced the direction of other television series.”…

weeds“Weeds is a US comedy television series created by Jenji Kohan, produced by Lionsgate Television for the Showtime network.
The plot revolves around a widowed housewife (Mary-Louise Parker) from an affluent California suburb who becomes her neighborhood’s marijuana dealer to make ends meet. The title is a play on words, referring to both the slang term for marijuana, and Widow’s weeds (clothing)[citation needed]. It also refers to the tendency of American suburbs to grow quickly and pervasively, with the dwellings and their residents being almost as indistinguishable as weeds. This is mirrored in the show’s theme song “Little Boxes” and opening credits, and is a recurring theme of the show itself. Going against this “all the same” theme, across the second and third seasons the theme song is performed by over twenty different artists.
Weeds currently comprises four seasons that began airing in August 2005. It was the highest rated series for Showtime its first year; its fourth-season premiere attracted 1.3 million viewers to Showtime, the channel’s highest-ever viewership; the season as a whole averaged 962,000 viewers.[citation needed] Showtime announced on July 18, 2008 that two more seasons of thirteen episodes each will be produced.[1]
Mary-Louise Parker won a Golden Globe for her performance on the show, and Jenji Kohan won a WGA award for her screenplay for the pilot episode.”…

“One Tree Hill is a teen television drama which takes place in a small fictional North Carolina town. It was created by Mark Schwahn and premiered on September 23, 2003 on The WB Television Network. The show continued to air on The WB until May 3, 2006, as it was announced that the network would merge with UPN to form The CW Television Network. The fourth season began airing on The CW on September 27, 2006 and the show continues to air on Mondays at 9:00PM Eastern/8:00PM Central. On September 1, 2008, The CW started airing the sixth season of One Tree Hill. The show’s interiors are filmed at the EUE/Screen Gems studios in Wilmington, North Carolina and exteriors are filmed in and around Wilmington. On February 25, 2009 The CW renewed One Tree Hill for a seventh season.[1] On May 12, 2009, it was finally confirmed that Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton will not be returning for the seventh season.
Mark Schwahn originally planned for One Tree Hill to be a feature length film. He pitched the idea around town but under the advice of a WB front man, he revised the movie into an hour-long teen drama series. Tree Hill is a fictional town, named from the song “One Tree Hill” by U2 (which is, in turn, named after a landmark in New Zealand). Schwahn named the town “Tree Hill” because while he was writing the idea for the show he had been listening to the album The Joshua Tree by U2. The show was originally to be called An Unkindness of Ravens. At the start of the show, fans often asked Schwahn why the show was named One Tree Hill when the town was just called Tree Hill. The question is ostensibly answered when Karen tells Lucas in Episode 1.22 that “There is only one Tree Hill – and it’s your home.” 1, Tree Hill is also the address of Tree Hill High School.”…
